Project Overview

Students will use the Internet to access information about Islands as a pre- writing activity in their Language Arts Program.. This information will be the basis of a travel brochure by each student which will be written using a word processing program suitable to their ability. ( Corel Word Perfect or The Amazing Writing Machine )

Students will use the computer to:

• Practise keyboarding skills
  
• Follow the directions by reading the screen
  

   Evaluation

The project will be based on the following criteria:

Students will acquire a body of knowledge relating to literature and art from cultures which are different from their own.

• Students will use the Internet as a means of information processing
  
• Students will assess material and pictures to help explore new environments
  
• Students will develop an appreciation of the information discovered and explored about Islands.
