Project Overview

Students will use the Internet to access information about The Solar System as a pre-writing activity in their Social Studies. This information will be the basis of a report by each student which will be written using a word processing program suitable to their ability.

Students will use the computer to:

• Explore current topics
  
• Practise keyboarding skills
  
• Follow the directions by reading the screen

The project will be bases on the following criteria:

• Students will acquire a body of knowledge relating to the Solar System
  
• Students will use the Internet as a means of information processing
  
• Students will assess material with respect to its appropriateness
  
• Students will develop an appreciation of the vast amount of information available
