Core French students from Grades 5 & 6 will have the opportunity to communicate or be linked to French-speaking schools in Newfoundland & Labrador, (ex. Port au Port Peninsula, French immersion schools in St. John's, Gander or Labrador) or outside of the province (ex St. Pierre, France, Quebec) Students or groups of students will communicate with a French-speaking pen-pal through e-mail communications. They will explore similarities by identifying school-related activities common to young French-speaking and English-speaking students, as well as activities they have in common such as favourite games, sports, foods, pets etc. Stellar schools will easily enable Ralph Laite Academy to twin itself with other Francophone schools for the purpose of exchanging cultural information.
