Project 1: "Slipping into the Net"
Greenwood Academy is a new K-9 school which is presently in the process of upgrading its computer room to a Windows NT network with Windows 95 workstations. On October 24, 1997, Newtel made it possible to access Lewisporte from Campbellton with a local call. This gave us access to the Cable Atlantic Internet node at Lewisporte High School. The project's success can be evaluated by the amount of information students and teachers obtain from the Internet. If teachers are encouraging their students to research assignments on the Internet and students are finding information on the Internet, then the project will be a success.
