Students will search the World Wide Web for information about the rainforests of the world. During class time students will conduct their research via the Internet, compile it, and present it to the class. Each group of students will concentrate on a different topic dealing with rainforests. A short but intense time frame of two to three weeks is preferred so that students will become involved with and hopefully concerned about this issue. In this time period it is hoped students will spend from eight to ten periods conducting online research. Main Curriculum Areas:

How Stellar Schools will enable and enhance our project: At this time our school cannot implement this project with the number of students involved, as well we only have 2 computers connected to the Internet. We need more Internet access to accommodate our students so that they can take advance of the resources on the World Wide Web. Other Resources:

Impact of this project on the school: This project will get these students involved, interested in using the Internet as a research tool. It is hoped that these students, other students, as well as teachers, will realize the wealth of information online and become comfortable accessing it.
