Project 1: Option 1
For a time period (3 months), the Grade 6 class will be divided up into groups of three students. Each morning a group will download the weather forecast for that particular day. On that afternoon the group will make a visual observation and chart whether the forecaster was a) very accurate, b) accurate or c) not very accurate. This chart will be kept and displayed in the class.
The project will give students the opportunity to use the Internet to gather information. It serves as a low level introductory activity that can ensure success for all the students and serve as a bridge to more in-depth activities later.
Chapter Two in the Grade Six science curriculum is entitled, "Water In The Air," and provides reference point for this project.
