  Project Overview

The third project involves a partnership between STELLAR Schools, Cable Atlantic, Friends and Lobbyists of the Waterford River and the Quidi Vidi/Rennies River Development Foundation. An existing RINGS project, Project Rivers brings together the resources of all these groups to provide the basis of classroom projects that will use the latest in communications technology to help classes appreciate and preserve our watersheds. Students Tending River Ecosystems and Marshlands (STREAM) is Holy Heart's addition to this worthwhile venture. Environmental Science and other science students have "adopted" a section of the Rennies River and will be undertaking its care on an ongoing basis. Results of water-tests, general litter clean-ups, pollution watches and similar types of investigations will be posted to an existing Web page and this information will be shared with the other partners. As well initiatives originating from the partners will be explored and participated in.
